Inspecting HTTP Requests
Find request data, filters, and search results in the local dashboard.
Each captured request includes the HTTP method, path, optional route, headers, query, params, and body when the active instrumentation provides it.
Find a request
Open /_devtools, authenticate, and use the request list. The dashboard API supports pagination, method/status filters, and server-side search over request summaries. Select a request to inspect its trace and request metadata.
What to check
- Method and path: confirm the route that actually reached the server.
- Headers: inspect the captured request headers; avoid treating them as safe for public sharing.
- Query and params: compare parsed values with the route that matched.
- Body: Express body capture depends on the Express instrumentation and parser setup.
Request capture excludes the dashboard’s own /_devtools routes from incoming HTTP instrumentation.
