Debugging Errors
Use failed spans and trace summaries to understand request failures.
When a span reports an error, ServerDevTools stores the error status and exception details with the span and marks the trace summary as errored.
Workflow
- Filter or search for the failed request.
- Open the trace and locate the first error-marked operation.
- Compare its duration and parent operation with the request response.
- For NestJS, ensure
ServerDevToolsNestInterceptoris registered so handler exceptions are recorded on the active span.
The SDK records errors; it does not swallow exceptions or change your framework’s response handling.
